Mark your calendar and purchase your tickets now to attend the Garnett Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet on Thursday, January 26, 2012.  The event will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Garnett. Social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30.

The Chamber of Commerce will be honoring the award recipients for Business of the Year, as well as the winner of the annual George Clasen Memorial Community Service Award.  

"We are very excited to feature Bill Hancock, the Executive Director of the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) as our speaker", states GACC president, Jordan Miller.  Hancock was previously the director of NCAA basketball's Final Four and also served on the U.S. Olympic Committee staff at nine Olympic Games.

Following a family tragedy, Mr. Hancock undertook a transcontinental bicycle journey in 2001. His memoir about his experience, "Riding With the Blue Moth", has been among the top-selling sports books since it was released in 2005.  

Banquet tickets are $15 per person for Chamber members, and $20 for  non-members.  Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce office, 419 South Oak Street, during regular business hours, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. weekdays, or from any Chamber Board member. CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME NEW GACC BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Garnett Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the results of our Board of Directors election. It was extremely close with only a single vote separating the 2nd and 3rd place candidates. We appreciate all 4 candidates for running and the many of you who voted.

Our new Board members are:

Eric Smith, City of Garnett 

They will be taking office at our next Board meeting on January 12. They join our existing Board members:
